Backups and recovery
Your workspace is saved in this browser profile using IndexedDB. It is not a cloud account or a cross-device backup. Clearing site data, using a different browser, or losing access to this profile can remove access to your work.
Download a backup
Open Manage and choose Download backup. The JSON contains editable collections, imported raw text, drafts, and saved releases. Keep it privately. Downloads in your operating system remain separate from site data and are not erased by the workspace.
Restore a backup
Choose Restore backup in Manage or on the empty-workspace screen. Confirm replacement, then select a supported backup up to 12 MB. Content Studio validates schemas, source text, references, reviews, and release fingerprints before replacing saved data. An invalid backup does not replace the current workspace.
When saving fails
If storage is full or another tab saved a newer revision, the attempted change is held in the current tab and a recovery panel appears. Download the unsaved backup first. Reload saved work to read the current saved revision. Do not close the tab until you have kept the change you need.
Unsaved form edits are held only in their dialog. Cancel asks before discarding edited fields. If the site cannot open saved storage, it does not overwrite that storage; recover an existing backup or resolve browser storage access before continuing.
Work in one tab
Concurrent saves use revision checks. A stale tab cannot silently overwrite a newer saved workspace. It must reload or export its unsaved work. This protects against conflicting local saves, not all forms of corruption or device failure.
Erase local work
Manage offers deletion of one collection or the entire workspace after confirmation. Source copies inside a saved release remain until the collection or workspace is deleted. Check that deletion reports success. Downloaded backups and shared copies must be handled separately.
